Hut 6 Han Bouwmeester
Weer een dagje met Marjolein naar een vogelhut geweest deze keer hut 6. Ik was hier nog nooit geweest en het is een wat afwijkende hut omdat het geen boshut is maar 1 aan de waterkant. De verwachting was hoog, hoopte vooral op de ijsvogel en wat steltlopers. Het weer zat mee want een week geleden zou het een grijze dag worden maar op de dag zelf was het half bewolkt, niets te klagen.
De Hut is zoals gewend van goede kwaliteit, met 4 balhoofden aan het plafond op een rail. Marjolein heeft een bridge camera (Sony RX10 Miv) en kon hem dus niet aan de lens hangen, gelukkig had ik mijn schommelkop mee en kon ik die ipv de balhoofd ophangen en kon zij ook zonder statief fotograferen . Ik had de Sony A9 met 200-600 en A7rii met 70-200 2.8 en een 1,4 converter bij me.
De setting was redelijk, jammer dat het eiland te hoog was om de ijsvogel te zien duiken en dat de details zoals slangen en randen van vijvertjes op deel van je foto's zichtbaar wordt.
Het is in deze hut veel stiller met vogels, geen meesjes constant en je hoeft ook niet te voeren. Ik las dat de nijlganzen voor veel problemen zorgde en het vijvertje opeiste voor hun, dat klopte wel ze zijn soms wat luidruchtig en jagen andere vogels weg, maar niet echt last van gehad. Toen we binnen liepen en de schermen ophaalde werden de de waterhoentjes ook wakker (6:30) ze kwamen uit hun hole boomstam met 5 jonkies. De ijsvogel kwam ook stuk of 8 keer langs op 3 verschillende takken maar die staan allemaal net te ver voor het mooie, en iso was door 1,4 converter dus ook wat hoger als gewild. Uiteindelijk niet heel tevreden over het grootste gedeelte van de foto's. De reiger heeft wel heel lang gestaan en ons nog een beetje vermaakt met het vangen van mini-visjes en Libelles. Op het eind van de dag nog 2 oeverlopers, wel verderop kievieten en wulp zien vliegen. Net buiten het dijkje ook 3 visdiefjes kunnen fotograferen. De vangst voor de dag was dus (bij de hut); Ekster, duif, ijsvogel, waterhoen, oeverloper, blauwe reiger, Nijlgans, houd dus niet over. Al met al dus weinig soorten en een leuke hut maar voor maar 1 keer( misschien is het in het voorjaar wat drukker met steltlopers). Tipje voor Han, wat minder onkruid en misschien wel wat planten, snoeien, snoeren wegwerken en toch een tak dichterbij. Uiteindelijk om om 15;45 weggegaan.
Another day with Marjolein went to a bird hut, this time hut 6. I had never been here and it is a somewhat different hut because it is not a forest hut but 1 on the waterfront. Expectations were high, I was hoping for the kingfisher and some waders. The weather was good because a week ago it would be a gray day but on the day itself it was partly cloudy, nothing to complain about.
As usual, the Hut is of good quality, with 4 ball heads on the ceiling on a rail. Marjolein has a bridge camera (Sony RX10 Miv) and could not hang it on the lens, luckily I had my swing head with me and I could hang it instead of the ball head and she could also photograph without a tripod. The setting was decent, too bad the island was too high to see the kingfisher diving and the details like snakes and edges of ponds are visible in some of your photos.
It is much quieter in this cabin with birds, no tits constantly and you don't have to feed either. I read that the Egyptian geese caused a lot of problems and claimed the pond for them, that's true, they are sometimes a bit noisy and chase other birds away, but not really bothered by it. When we walked in and picked up the screens, the Moorhens also woke up (6:30) they came out of their hole tree trunk with 5 young ones. The kingfisher also came by about 8 times on 3 different branches, but they are all just too far for the beautiful, and iso was due to 1.4 converter also a bit higher than wanted. In the end not very satisfied with most of the photos. The heron has stood for a long time and entertained us a bit by catching mini-fish and dragonflies. At the end of the day 2 sandpipers, but further on we saw lapwings and curlew flying. Just outside the dike, 3 common terns can also be photographed. So the catch for the day was (at the hut); Magpie, dove, kingfisher, moorhen, sandpiper, blue heron, Egyptian goose, so don't have any left. All in all, so few species and a nice hut but only for 1 time (maybe it is a bit busier in spring with waders). Tip for Han, less weeds and maybe some plants, pruning, getting rid of cords and still a branch closer. Finally left at 3:45 pm.
